As a point of interest, Hte. Decugis was a prestigious French trading house established in Constantinople (now Istanbul) in the late 19th century. Located in the Pera district, the shop specialised in importing and selling European luxury goods for the Ottoman aristocracy and the international elite residing in the capital of the Ottoman Empire. The shop thus represented renowned French manufacturers such as Haviland Limoges, Baccarat and Christofle.
